The First Graders celebrated the 101st Day of School with more fun activities, incorporating the 101 Dalmatians theme! There were students dressed up as Dalmatian puppies and Cruella de Vil made an appearance. What a fun way to celebrate the 101st day of school!
This week, two more students cashed in their Croc Cash for Mrs. Darrington’s chair. Mrs. Darrington’s chair must be a lot more comfy than regular school chairs! Keep doing good things and stashing that Croc Cash. Let see who gets the chair next!
The First Grade classes celebrated the 100th day of school yesterday! They made special hats, decorated tshirts, made a pyramid of 100 cups, painted dots, created pictures and patterns out of 100 shapes…and many more fun activities! They are 100 days/ways smarter! Guess what comes after 100? You’ll have to see tomorrow!
Magic Mike also had a big surprise for Cherry Creek! He had a cardboard cut out of his favorite hero…it was covered with paper, so we didn’t know WHO his hero was. With the help of a few students, his hero was uncovered…the surprise was that it was Mrs. Nielson. Mrs. Nielson was chosen by her peers as Teacher of the Year at Cherry Creek. Congratulations Mrs. Nielson! She is a hero at Cherry Creek, making learning fun and interesting in her LEGO themed room!
Magic Mike Hamilton came and mesmerized Cherry Creek with his magic and message of internet safety. He told Cherry Creek Crocs that they have the power…the power to make better choices when on the internet. Students and Teachers helped Magic Mike create magical moments, changing handkerchiefs to the American flag, making a bunny appear, changing an origami paper flower into a real rose, levitating a table and teleporting a torn playing card to appear in a bag of chips. Amazing! Cherry Creek Crocs have the Power! Boo yah!
Today, 2 First Grade Classes take the Spirit Day Trophy! Mrs. Jensen’s and Mrs. Golding’s Classes had all of their students wearing Red or Spirit Day attire! Wow! Thanks for creating a tidal wave of red in the 1st grade hall. Congratulations!
This week, Mrs. Huntsman was recognized with the Crystal Apple Award. It is given to public school educators who have made a positive impact on the lives of their students.
This week, a 3rd Grade student in Mrs. Loomis’ class traded in his Croc Cash to buy Mrs. Darrington’s chair for a day. Croc Cash is given out by teachers and staff to students that are doing good things at Cherry Creek. It takes a long time to save up enough Croc Cash to buy Mrs. Darrington’s comfy chair!
We all want to protect our kids from online dangers. When kids recognize threats and know exactly what to do, they are capable of making healthy choices for themselves. During the week of January 22-26 we will have our White Ribbon Week - a week dedicated to teaching kids to be safe and smart with media and technology.
