Chrome Books at Cherry Creek

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on
Cherry Creek is going chrome! Thanks to generous technology donations from various organizations, including our own PTA, all 3-6 grade classrooms will get their very own set of Chromebook laptops. Today, Mrs. Nielson's fifth grade got to explore finding the volume of rectangular prisms and had a great time!

Power Plant Field Trip for 5th Grade

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

We went to visit the Springville Power Plant to find out how power is made.  What a shock we got! We found out about the making of power and what would happen if we didn't ground ourselves. (See first photo.) We also found out how to generate electricity just in case the power went out. (See second photo.)  We also saw what would happen to our heart if it was a banana. (See third photo.)
