We Lead: Lighthouse Review

Submitted by janelle.barrett on

Today marked a big milestone for Cherry Creek's journey as a Leader In Me school. Visitors from Franklin Covey (the parent company of The Leader In Me program) came to visit our school to complete a "Lighthouse Review". Schools that have implemented the Leader In Me with exceptionalism and consistency across multiple years are eligible to be designated as a "Lighthouse School". It's our goal to be awarded with Lighthouse status, and we look forward to the feedback we receive! We are proud of our Cherry Creek leaders!

We Lead: Begin With the End in Mind for Friday Fun Day

Submitted by janelle.barrett on

We do Friday Fun Day in 5th grade for the students who get their homework done. Since there are three 5th grade classes it works perfectly. If you get your homework done you get to play capture the flag. If you do not get your homework done you go to one of the 5th grade classrooms to read or do math. It helps the students begin with the end in mind and want to get their homework done so they can have a chance to have extra fun.

We Learn: Math March Madness

Submitted by janelle.barrett on

It's that time of year when the brackets come out, and the championship games begin! But at Cherry Creek, the competition isn't to see which 3rd-6th grade students are the best at basketball, but at remembering their multiplication math facts. This past week, every student in 3rd-6th grade competed for spots in the Sweet 16 round. Prizes get a little bit bigger as each round progresses. Let the games begin!
