The sixth graders were invited to attend the annual program at BYU called Project Youth. BYU student volunteers host 1200 sixth graders from all over the county and introduce them to college life and experiences. Students were able to tour the campus and hear professors talk about their areas of expertise, everything from science to social work to education to anatomy to physical education, etc. They had a surprise snow storm while touring the campus. Students were rushing to find places of refuge to try to stay dry. Typically lunch is eaten outside but due to the unseasonal weather, the students ate in the Fine Arts Building. The end of the day was spent in a pep rally with BYU football players, cheerleaders, dancers from many cultures with plenty of cheering and dancing done by the sixth graders as well. The students were the star of the closing ceremonies slideshow. Thank you to BYU for always inviting Cherry Creek to their school and thanks to the students for representing Cherry Creek well.
