Just a reminder, Winter break will begin tomorrow, Thursday, December 22nd and will run through Tuesday, January 3rd.  See you back at school on Wednesday, January 4th!

Mrs. Hill was awarded a Crystal Apple!  This award celebrates a teacher who demonstrates exemplary leadership, innovative teaching and positive relationships and collaboration at Cherry Creek.  Some of the things that were shared about Mrs. Hill:  5-the number of times per week she’s flexible in trying something new.  4-average number of times per week she volunteers for extra duty shifts. 3-people in her cute little family.  2-grateful 2nd grade teammates.  1-peer well-deserved!

It’s a tradition at Christmas to have a big sing a long the last day before holiday break.  Every ones sings carols together and each grade level prepares a s0ng to share.  Checkout our Cherry Creek Facebook page for the videos!  Merry Christmas!

Mrs Smallcomb makes Music time fun!  Throwing snowballs at Frosty the Snowman is the reward for great singing in music class!

The 2nd Graders also celebrated Grinch day and used Grinch activities to help them in Math, art and PE.  We even had a visit from Cindy Lou Who! 

At our Victory assembly today, we learned that we are over 1/4 of the way towards our goal of having each student receive Croc Claws for living one of the 7 Habits.  And we are a little over 1/3 of the way towards earning 10,000 tickets for the Reading Carnival.  Keep working hard Crocs….we will reach our goal if each one of us does our part!

Today, we recognized our Top Crocs and Leaders of the Month for December.  We celebrated them with a Victory Lap! Congratulations!  Keep up the great work!

Just a reminder about the Winter Reading Blitz offered through the Springville Library.  Stop by the Springville Library for a Bingo card and for more information and to pick up a Bingo Card.

We had another 3 Way Tie on Spirit Day!  Mrs. Hill’s 2nd Grade Class, Mrs. Frossard’s 4th Grade Class and Mrs. Nielson’s 5th Grade Class had everyone Rockin the Red for Spirit Day!  Congratulations!  

Learning during the holidays can be fun!  In First Grade, we celebrated Grinch Day.  The 1st Graders did grinch worksheets, did a directed drawing of the grinch, made a cup that looked like the grinch, and watched the new grinch and ate popcorn that was in our cups.   They also ate “grinch pills” (Christmas m&m’s) and green candy canes.
