Readers Theater in 4th Grade

Submitted by mike.duncan on

Students were able to practice expression and fluency as they prepared for a class readers theater presentation. Students worked hard in small groups so that when the day arrived they would be prepared to present. We enjoyed listening to each group as they performed their varied readers theater.

Principal Serves Up a Great Lunch

Submitted by mike.duncan on

Mr. Duncan, our fearless principal, worked with the 5th graders and our marvelous lunch ladies serving lunch to the Cherry Creek Crocs. He greeted each one with a smile and made sure the students selected a fruit or vegetable with their meal. Thanks for helping us be healthy!

6th Graders Work for Mr. Wonka

Submitted by mike.duncan on

The sixth graders went to work for Mr. Wonka the first week of school packaging caramels. They followed Mr. Wonka's #1 Rule: If you have 10 of something, you MUST package. Students grouped caramels into long boxes, flats, cartons and so forth until all the caramels were packaged and ready to ship. They learned about place value, addition and subtraction when "orders" were changed. They were tempted to eat them, but resisted!
