Resident Artists from Utah Opera came to perform and teach the students at Cherry Creek. This morning, we were introduced to some basic Italian words that are used in operas, heard the 4 different voice classifications and participated by clapping rhythms. “Who Wants to ben an Opera Star” is an introduction to the art form of opera through the framework of a TV game show. Students learn about voice types, arias, duets, props and costumes in hopes of inspiring young artists and gives them experience with the variety of artistic activities and careers involved in the creation, development and production of opera.
