Native American Heritage Assembly

November is Native American Heritage Month.  Mrs. Shoshana Begay, from Nebo District American Indian Education, brought her family and friends to teach Cherry Creek Crocs about different aspects of the Native American heritage. We listened to a Navajo lullaby, watched a jingle dance and a basket dance.  We were taught about symbolism through a hoop dance and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of the Indian Flute.  One of our very own Cherry Creek Crocs, Nicholas Yazzie, shared his talents in the Feather Fancy Dance.  Check out our Cherry Creek Elementary FB page for videos.
