Mayor Packard, Shannon Acor of the Nebo School Board, and Mariela Pastrana from Tabatha's Way visited the students at Cherry Creek to thank them for their tremendous donation to the recent food drive. The families of Cherry Creek donated over 1,900 lbs. of food for Tabitha's Way to distribute fo families in need. The mayor and city council often recognized youth in the community at their city council meeting. This month, the mayor and city council presented the Mayor's Youth Award to the students at Cherry Creek. He complimented the students for really living the school mission statement of "We Lead, We Learn, We Inspire, I am Important." Students were Leaders among the community for holding the most successful elementary school partnership food drive Tabitha's Way has ever had. They are Learning to give and care for others, and Inspiring their peers and adults in the community to do more and be better. Thank you students and families for your generosity.
