We have a critical shortage of volunteers in your area, and that puts our program in a bit of a bind as we approach the summer months when many people travel out of town. Our program experiences a significant shortage of volunteers during this time, which impacts our ability to deliver meals to our elderly neighbors effectively.
We've found that teachers and parents often make exceptional volunteers, and we're hoping to partner with your school to spread the word about these summer opportunities. Volunteers can make a huge difference in only 1 hour a week. Children are welcome and even encouraged to accompany their parents so they can learn the value of community service. Our elderly clients love to see children.
