On November 9, Cherry Creek's PTA hosted the annual Reading Frenzy. The four sessions included guest readers sharing their books, refreshments with parents reading to their children in the cafeteria, and a free Book Giveaway to ALL that attended. There were many smiling faces at the end of the evening as they returned home with a book of their choice.
The profits from the Scholastic Book Fair last month made the free book giveaway possible.
Thank you PTA.
Congratulations to all of the students who were recognized this week at our Reflections Assembly! There were a lot of students who participated and were able to show their talents in the various forms of art, such as visual arts, dance, writing, and photography. It is so great to see so much talent at Cherry Creek!
Halloween celebrations were so much fun at Cherry Creek this year. The parade was the highlight of the day! The teachers this year decided to do a theme of book characters. Here are the books they chose:
Preschool: "Five Little Pumpkins"
Kindergarten: “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”
First grade: “Pinkalicious” (and other colors)
Second grade: “Click, Clack, Moo”
Third grade: “Harry Potter”
Fourth grade: “Enchanted Tales” (Disney Princesses)
Fifth grade: “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”
Sixth grade: “The Lightning Thief”
This week has been so much fun for Red Ribbon Week. Each day, students dressed up to represent being Drug Free! We even had athletes from BYU come and talk about how being drug free has helped them. They even had a push-up contest at the assembly! What a great way for the students to see how being drug-free is the way to go.
Making patterns in Kindergarten is super fun!! Every student in Mrs. Bergera's class did an amazing job creating their very own pattern caterpillar. Here are pictures of both the AM and PM kindergartedn classes and their caterpillar patterns!
Our amazing PTA hosted the Scholastic Book Fair October 6-9. They had Grand Events where parents could come and eat with their students at lunch and go to the book fair. t is being held in the north gym. They also had a competition to see which grade level could bring in the most donations. The winning grade level teachers will be entered into a Monster Eating Contest! The amount of money in these jars will "tell the story" The decorations and displays were amazing, we have the greatest PTA!
