Cherry Creek’s Halloween Carnival is a Success!

On Thursday, October 29, students at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville got to wear their Halloween Costumes to school! They were treated to a fabulous Halloween Carnival by the PTA. Some of the kids even won awards for their awesome costumes. These are the winners of various categories in the PTA costume contest:   Front Row: Jake Erikson, Jordan Erikson, Ashley Durkee, Peyton Grace, Joe Marvin and Joe’s younger sister Back Row: Brandon Simpson, Saige Porray, Shaina Hickenbotham, Brooke Bromley, Mckenna Witby

Utah County K-9 officers visit Cherry Creek

 On October 6, as part of Red Ribbon week, students at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville learned about the Utah County K-9 unit and how its Officers work with specially trained dogs to locate drugs and apprehend criminals. They were able to watch Nacho the dog successfully attempt to find drugs hidden on the stage. They even got to see how Nacho catches criminals! It was a fun and unique way for the students to learn about the importance of being drug and violence free. Thanks to the Utah County K-9 unit for coming to demonstrate!

 

September Awards

On September 30, 2009, students at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville received special awards. Three students from each class were chosen to receive awards for scholarship (red awards), citizenship (yellow awards), or special recognition (blue awards).

Back to School Bash at Cherry Creek is a Success!

On Friday, September 11, 2009, Cherry Creek Green Ribbon Week came to an end with a successful "Back to School Bash" in the evening. The night was filled with friends and fun and lots of prizes. The PTA worked hard to set up an exciting carnival that even included stations about fire safety, car safety, and bike safety. We look forward to doing it again next year!
