Nonfiction Presentations

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Students in Mrs. Truscott's sixth grade class have been learning how to read nonfiction text. They have learned about text features and how those features help us understand information. Students presented what they learned to the rest of the class.

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

T.J. Roberts, a 6th grader, was recognized by the Springville Mayor, Mayor W.W. Clyde, at the latest city council meeting. He was acknowledged for all his efforts going the extra mile in the class and on the playground. T.J. is a remarkable boy and is well liked by his peers and teachers. Here, Mr. Duncan, reads the award he received at that meeting so our school could hear all about it.

2nd Graders Lead SHS Basketball Team to a Win

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Math and basketball make a great mix!  Mrs. Chang's class was visited by five members of the Springville High Basketball team.  The basketball players practiced math and read with the second graders providing fabulous role models and having fun at the same time.

The SHS basketball team then went on to play that night against Spanish Fork High and won by 18 points! Those 2nd graders really got the players' minds ready for the game.

Christmas Choir Concert

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Thursday, December 13th the Cherry Creek Choir had the chance to show off all their hard work and skills to their parents at an evening concert.  The choir performed 12 different songs with soloists, harmonies and even some fun props.  The choir has been rehearsing these songs at early morning practices since the beginning of October.  Choir rehearsals will resume (and be open to new 3-6 grade students) mid-March...listen to morning announcements or watch for a note home for more details.  Thanks to all the staff and parents for making this choir a possibility
