Third grade students have been learning about simple machines.  They were given the opportunity to invent a machine using two or more simple machines.  Students used their imaginations inventing machines to hold their ties, to bring them breakfast in bed and more.

This year, the students in Mrs. Alderks' and Mrs. Boyer's third grade class have been studying a different artist each month.  We learn about the life of these artists, what art works they are famous for, and even create a work of art imitating each artist!  So far we have learned about Leonardo DaVinci, Pablo Picasso, Norman Rockwell, Vincent VanGogh, and Andy Warhol.  We've had a lot of fun learning about these amazing artists! Here are our renditions of Starry Night by Van Gogh. 

Cherry Creek students have been doing great things and earning gold croc claws. A bingo was earned last week and the winners enjoyed an ice cream party with Mr. Duncan. Congrats to all the bingo board winners: Jade Trejo, Jax Fordham, Emma Biesinger, Lily Diaz, Jackson Allmen, Kari Cooper, Alfredo Garcia, Mikelle Olson, Emma Skeem, Tyger Ogden, Jessica Pratt, and Mallory McKell. Keep up the great work Crocs!

Mrs. Truscott’s class has been learning how to make box and whisker plots with data. We went to the gym and made our own human box and whisker plot using our heights as our data.

For dental health month all the first graders were able to participate in an assembly to learn how to properly care for their teeth. We learned to brush twice a day, and floss at least once daily! We enjoyed the visit from the office of Dr. Hammond and Dr. Ellis.
