Sixth Grade Greek Olympics

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on
A reenactment of the Greek Olympics was held on Friday, December 20. Students created flags representing the city-state they competed for and wore crowns of leaves. Our student body president, McKenna Patterson, led our processional through the school carrying the torch. Events were javelin throw, discus, foot race, standing long jump and tongue twister. A winner for each event was awarded with a can of olives and a treat. Afterwards all students received refreshments. We greatly thank our parent volunteers as well as parents who helped provide donations to help with our annual event.

We are thrilled to announce our very own school secretary Mrs. Taylor was the recipient of the PEAK Award (Positive Energy and Kindness). She is most deserving and here is what a few of her colleagues have to say about her. "Mrs. Taylor is the face of Cherry Creek!! She goes out of her way to greet parents, students and staff." Mr. Duncan "It never fails that Mrs. Taylor gives exceptional service. Whether it's for the principal, teachers, parents and especially the students, her service to them is fabulous. I have seen her care about students like they are her own children.
