The student body at Cherry Creek were able to share their Christmas music in an assembly. We heard from the choir who sang several numbers. Each grade shared music to help ring in the holiday season. We ended in group carol singing led by Mrs. Deardeuff. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Mr. Duncan visited each class throughout the week spending time to read them a Christmas story, give a candy cane to each of them and visit with the students. It's one of his favorite things to do: spending time with the students. The classes all loved having him in their class and hearing his stories. Thanks Mr. Duncan! Merry Christmas!
It's been another great month at Cherry Creek and we recognized 3 students from each class in the following categories: scholarship, citizenship and special recognition. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
Students in Mrs. Truscott's sixth grade class have been learning how to read nonfiction text. They have learned about text features and how those features help us understand information. Students presented what they learned to the rest of the class.
T.J. Roberts, a 6th grader, was recognized by the Springville Mayor, Mayor W.W. Clyde, at the latest city council meeting. He was acknowledged for all his efforts going the extra mile in the class and on the playground. T.J. is a remarkable boy and is well liked by his peers and teachers. Here, Mr. Duncan, reads the award he received at that meeting so our school could hear all about it.
