Congratulations to Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade Class for taking the first Spirit Day Trophy of the year! Don’t forget to show your school spirit on Fridays by wearing Red or your Cherry Creek School apparel! Let’s get a tidal wave of Red going every Friday!
Day of Caring is an annual day of service that takes place on the second Thursday of September. United Way invites organizations across the county to come together in completing various projects that benefit the community, with over 1,500 volunteers completing over 60 service projects. Volunteers from United Way and BYU came to Cherry Creek to repaint some fun playground activities like Mirror Me, Hopscotch and other colorful activities. We were surprised to find out that one of the volunteers from BYU was a dad of one of our own Cherry Creek Crocs. Thanks Mr. Walch!
We unveiled our 2 WIGS (Wildly Important Goals) at our Leadership Assembly on Monday. Our First WIG: All students will earn 2 Croc Claws during the year. A Croc Claw is given to a student when they exhibit living one of the Covey 7 Habits at school: Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand Then to Be Understood, Synergize, Sharpen the Saw and Find Your Voice. Our 2nd WIG is for each student to earn a ticket each week for the Reading Carnival in the Spring. Students earn tickets by doing their home reading every week.
Just a reminder, School Pictures are tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13th. Don't forget to bring your picture packet if you are ordering printed pictures.
