Submitted by sarah.sumsion on Thu, 12/20/2012 - 21:40

Mr. Duncan visited each class throughout the week spending time to read them a Christmas story, give a candy cane to each of them and visit with the students. It's one of his favorite things to do: spending time with the students. The classes all loved having him in their class and hearing his stories.  Thanks Mr. Duncan!  Merry Christmas!

T.J. Roberts, a 6th grader, was recognized by the Springville Mayor, Mayor W.W. Clyde, at the latest city council meeting. He was acknowledged for all his efforts going the extra mile in the class and on the playground. T.J. is a remarkable boy and is well liked by his peers and teachers. Here, Mr. Duncan, reads the award he received at that meeting so our school could hear all about it.

2nd Graders Lead SHS Basketball Team to a Win

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 18:41

Math and basketball make a great mix!  Mrs. Chang's class was visited by five members of the Springville High Basketball team.  The basketball players practiced math and read with the second graders providing fabulous role models and having fun at the same time.

The SHS basketball team then went on to play that night against Spanish Fork High and won by 18 points! Those 2nd graders really got the players' minds ready for the game.
