We Learn

Submitted by jan.grotegut on

First grade has been reading a story about a flag shop out of their new language arts curriculum that is called CKLA.  Mrs. Jensen’s class asked if they could go to the hall of flags and learn about all of the ones that we have hanging in our school.  What a way to extend  learning by reading a story and connecting it to the world around us.

PTA Leaders Help Prepare

Submitted by jan.grotegut on

We Lead, We Learn, We Inspire, I am Important!  The PTA leaders are great examples of Cherry Creek’s motto.  They led by helping to put together the classroom emergency buckets for each class in the school.  They learned that many hands help make the work go faster.  They inspired others to be happy when helping.  They also learned that had an important job  to do to prepare for an emergency.  Thanks PTA Leaders!

Day of Caring Part 2

Submitted by jan.grotegut on

A Big Cherry Creek Croc Shout out to the volunteers from BYU, UCCU and Wavetronix for serving Cherry Creek Students on the Day of Caring.  These volunteers took time out of their busy day to show that serving and education is important!  These volunteers painted the playground to make recess more enjoyable, read a story and taught a character Ed lesson to instill a love of reading and self, challenged our thinking with a STEM lesson, helped our teachers by prepping visual aids for a lesson and organized our take home reading library by shelving books.

Never Forgotten: September 11th

Submitted by jan.grotegut on

Ms. Christensen’s 2nd Grade class colored ribbons so they would never forget the events of 9-11.  Those who lost their lives will never be forgotten…those who heroically served will always be thanked…and we will always remember how the American across the country banded together to help where they could.
