The sixth graders have begun Super Speed Math to become Super Improvers! Students, working as partners, review addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions in a timed race against their own best score. Students verbally answer as many problems as they can while their partner carefully looks at each answer and gives them immediate feedback if they miss one. The correction is made and the student continues racing against the clock. Within the first day, students were already improving the number of facts they could answer in 1 minute and became Super Improvers. This is a fun and exciting beginning to math instruction and takes only 5 minutes.

The Citizenship Award recognized students who were respectful and kind to those around them. Many students also received the Special Recognition Award from their teachers for having outstanding character qualities. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
