Students Learn About Dental Care

Submitted by stephanie.galt on

The Dental Alliance visited Cherry Creek and taught our 1st-3rd grade students how to care for their teeth.  The ladies presented a marionette puppet show complete with Dr. Molar, Billy the Cavity, and a family of dinosaurs.  Students learned about the frequency of brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist.  It was super fun to learn and be entertained all at the same time.  We sure appreciate the willingness of these ladies to give of their time and help students learn about self care.

January Victory Assembly

Submitted by stephanie.galt on

The end of the month brings about the opportunity to celebrate students who are exhibiting greatness in academics and citizenship.  The Student Lighthouse Team and other school leaders do a fantastic job of conducting our monthly assemblies.  We are able to celebrate Top Crocs, and Leaders of the Month.  Each teacher nominates a student to recognize as Leader of the Month, and each grade level nominates a Top Croc.  It is always fun to see the joy on student's faces when their name is read, and then they notice family members in attendance to join us in celebrating them.

One of the favorite rewards students can earn at Cherry Creek is "Croc Cash."  Croc Cash is given out by all faculty members whenever students are caught working hard, making great choices, displaying outstanding citizenship, and many other positive actions.  Classrooms have items students can purchase with Croc Cash, or students can also purchase items from the office.  One of the favorite items students can use their Croc Cash for is to purchase the use of our principal's chair for the day.  This past Monday, while Mrs.

It was a great day to be a Croc at Cherry Creek Elementary.  To reward students for great citizenship in term 2, students were treated to an outstanding assembly put on by BYU Athletics members and the BYU Dunk Team.  Before entertaining the students and staff with their amazing skills, the athletes spent time teaching students about being "Built" for success  Success includes many characteristics that must be balanced.  Those characteristics  include things such as loving others, learning in school, connecting to others, using technology appropriately, and  wo
