Everyone Love Mini Society

Submitted by jan.grotegut on

One of the highlights of the end of the year is Mini Society.  The 5th Grade Students come up with a business plan, think about what they want to make or “sell” and get creative with a booth to present & sell their wares.  There are bankers, sanitation workers and runners that help run the business community.  The students in grades 1-4 earn and are rewarded Mini Society bucks to “spend” at the Mini Society booths.  Everyone has a good time playing games, having fingernails painted, eating cotton candy and “buying” trinkets.

Water Day at Cherry Creek

Monday was Water Day at Cherry Creek.  The 4th and 5th Graders got to enjoy some pool time at the Rec Center.  In the afternoon, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Graders had fun playing water games, eating Otter Pops and cooling off in the water slides.  The big hit of the day was the bubble machine!

Cherry Creek Reading Carnival is a BIG Hit!

Submitted by stephanie.galt on

Students have been working hard all year with at-home reading to earn carnival tickets for our year-end celebration.  At the beginning of the year, our school set a  WIG (wildly important goal) for students to complete weekly at home reading minutes.  To reward them for their efforts, students were earning tickets for a year-end school carnival.  Students could spin the wheel for prizes from generous local businesses, or play games to win small toys and best of all, free books were available to every student.  It was a fantastic time!
