Parents & Students, Reflections Contest deadline is October 13th. Please read the following announcement for more details.
Just a reminder that SEP's are on Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m. If you don't already have an appointment with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher for an available time. See you tomorrow! Stop by the 1st Grade hall and check out the Leadership Day/Family Night bulletin board. Some of you might see some photos of familiar faces.
Paul, from the Utah Steam Action Center, amazed us with his magic and taught Cherry Creek Crocs about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. He introduced the Scientific Method: Ask, Guess, Do, Observe & Answer. Many students were able to be his Magician’s Assistant. Everyone had a great time being entertained by his magic skills, learning about STEM and cooperation. Parents, ask your child about the magic trick that Paul gave to everyone. You will be amazed at their ability to guess which number you are thinking of!
Wow! Mrs. Hill’s 1st Grade Class won the Spirit Day Trophy today! The younger grades are really showing their school spirit by Rockin the Red. Congratulations!
First grade is learning about patterns of the sun in science. We went outside and traced our shadows today and will see how they change next week!
Second Grade tested out properties of materials. Their challenge: being stranded on a desert island and needing to create a hat for shade. It needed to be absorbent, provide shade, and be comfortable. What creative minds!
Monday, September 18th, is a Teacher Development day, so there will be NO school.
See you back at school on Tuesday, September 19th! Enjoy the day off and be safe!
Congratulations to Mrs. Golding’s 1st Grade Class for taking the first Spirit Day Trophy of the year! Don’t forget to show your school spirit on Fridays by wearing Red or your Cherry Creek School apparel! Let’s get a tidal wave of Red going every Friday!
Day of Caring is an annual day of service that takes place on the second Thursday of September. United Way invites organizations across the county to come together in completing various projects that benefit the community, with over 1,500 volunteers completing over 60 service projects. Volunteers from United Way and BYU came to Cherry Creek to repaint some fun playground activities like Mirror Me, Hopscotch and other colorful activities. We were surprised to find out that one of the volunteers from BYU was a dad of one of our own Cherry Creek Crocs. Thanks Mr. Walch!
