Sixth Grade Super Speed Math

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

The sixth graders have begun Super Speed Math to become Super Improvers! Students, working as partners, review addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions in a timed race against their own best score. Students verbally answer as many problems as they can while their partner carefully looks at each answer and gives them immediate feedback if they miss one. The correction is made and the student continues racing against the clock.

Shiver Me Timbers-Our Teachers are Pirates!

Submitted by mike.duncan on

Ahoy Mateys!  On Wednesday, September 19th the third grade students came to school with a surprise.  Their teachers turned into pirates!  We celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  We enjoyed playing treasure ship math, battleship with spelling, and even had Captain Duncan (Mr. Duncan) come share a story with us about pirates.  Arrrrrg!  We missed Mrs. Wimmer but were grateful the substitute was willing to join in the fun.  We all had a wonderful time.
