Congratulations to Mrs. Finch, who received the district's PEAK award last night at the school board meeting! This award is given to those who have made a significant difference in their school by showing kindness and a positive attitude. She was nominated by Mrs. Sumsion and Mrs. Peck. Here's what they had to say about Mrs. Finch:

“Katelyn is amazing with her students and their parents/guardians. She is very patient and helps everyone feel at peace with the services that are being offered. She has exceptional lessons that help students improve a lot. She helped one student raise his SAGE writing score by 139 points!! Katelyn works diligently with teachers on student IEPs. She works with the Dance Festival and other events for our Events Action Team. She is always positive and willing to go the extra mile to make it above and beyond awesome.”

“I am impressed with Katelyn. She has a heavy load as a resource teacher. Katelyn consistently communicates with me on how we can both meet my five self-contained students’ needs and be a team to help them academically and socially. She is happy to accommodate or try different and new approaches so our students succeed. Katelyn has been wonderful to work with and is a huge asset to our special education program at our school. She is kind and friendly to everyone. She has welcomed new students to her class with a loving attitude and is always positive.”
