Literacy Week at Cherry Creek

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Literacy Week at Cherry Creek brought many great happenings at our school. On Monday, it was dress like a Dr. Seuss character. Tuesday we had wear a hat day and Wednesday was crazy hair day. We wore blue on Thursday in honor of our guest reader, BYU football player, Spencer Hadley. He read a book to each grade, showed a highlight reel, answered questions, gave high-fives and visited with students at lunch. He signed a few items that were later given away as prizes for students whose names were drawn from the blue and gold croc-claws. Friday ended with students and faculty dressing as a character from a book. We must thank the PTA for so generously using funds raised from our recent book fair to purchase popular, quality books for each student in the school. The PTA book giveaway was a huge success and many students were able to choose their very own book to take home, for some, the first book of their very own. Thank you to all those who donated their time and means to help our Literacy Week be "booktacular".
