Every year we say goodbye to some wonderful teachers and staff, and this year is no exception.  We are always sad to see our friends move on to other chapters in their lives, but we wish them the very best.

Mrs. Peck, 5th grade: Mrs. Peck has been teaching at Cherry Creek for 12 years.  She is very detailed and creative.  She has been wonderful at organizing many of the fun performances, dances, and red carpet welcomes throughout her years at Cherry Creek.  Chalyce is always willing to help and goes above and beyond with everything she does.  She is very mindful of her students and wants them to be successful in every area of their lives.  We will miss her and wish her so much happiness as she stays home to care for her darling new baby Hudson.

Mrs. Finch, Special Education:  Mrs. Finch has been teaching at Cherry Creek for 5 years.  She is a wonderful teacher and her students adore her.  She is very fun to be around and she works hard to make sure her students are successful.  She is always willing to stay late or come early to hold IEP meetings that work for parent schedules.  Katelyn makes everyone feel important and takes time to listen and validate people.  We will miss her like crazy as she moves to a different school in Spanish Fork next year.

Janelle Barrett Kraling, Speech: Mrs Kraling has been part of Cherry Creek for 7 years.  She is an exemplary speech teacher and a district speech mentor.  Janelle is a natural leader and many people look to her for advice.  She is very organized, efficient and patient.  Her speech kiddos all love her, from the very youngest preschoolers, to the very oldest 6th graders.  She makes practice seem like play and students make great progress working with her.   She is moving to a new state so that her husband can continue his schooling.  We will miss her!!!

Katie Barton, Psychologist: Katie has been at Cherry Creek for just one year, but we have all come to love her.  She is a tiny little thing, but don't let that fool you, she is packed with energy and knowledge.  Katie has helped us work through some difficult situations and she does so with confidence.  She is always willing to offer assistance and we have loved having her as part of our team.  She is moving to a job in the Northern part of Utah and we wish her lots of happiness and success.

Melanie Hampton-SPED Technician: Melanie has been a wonderful addition to the Sped department and we are sad to lose her.  She has been very reliable with her outside duty, and is always prepared with meaningful lessons.  She is always willing to try new things and learn new skills. Melanie is happy and friendly and we have loved having her as part of our staff this year.  Luckily for us, she has students that go to Cherry Creek so we will still get to see her.

Edris Strong, Art Planning Time: Edris has been delightful to get to know.  She has been the art teacher for the past year and has prepared creative lessons that the students have enjoyed.  We have appreciated her time at Cherry Creek and wish her lots of luck in her future endeavors.
