Community Helpers

This week we learned about community helpers. The first picture is of 6 students in my class who dressed up as community helpers. The rest of the class had to guess who they were and describe why they are important in our community.There are 2 pictures of the Firefighter assembly we had.  We had fire fighter from Springville come in and talked to the entire first grade about his job and fire safety. One picture is a few students sorting words with the short "a" and "i" sounds. The last two weeks we have focused on both of those sounds. The students loved working together to sort them!  The final picture is a picture of the cards we made for Taysom Hill. Our first grade class learned how to put first things first! -Mrs. McDonald
