Magician Conjures Up Enchanting Family Night

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Magician Paul Brewer and Ken Garff Road to Success mascot Chief helped Cherry Creek families celebrate reading. Chief cheered, high-fived and excited the crowd before the magic show. During the magic show, student assistants were called up to help the magician create magic, from making a dove appear to an ever-enlarging magic wand. Students who read throughout the school year had their names entered into a drawing. A name was drawn that night and a bike certificate was awarded to a kindergarten student. They will be able to redeem their certificate for a bike of their choice at Walmart.

School Spirit Shines at Cherry Creek!

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Spencer, a 5th grader at Cherry Creek, came to school in head-to-toe red to show his school spirit. We love Fridays at Cherry Creek where everyone comes radiating red. If you don't have a red shirt, you can wear red somewhere else- like a bow in your hair, a wristband, even red shoelaces! Just show your school spirit and help your class win the school mascot in your classroom for the week!

Miss Springville/Mapleton Says "Get Out and Vote"

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

Abbey Eriksson, Miss Springville/Mapleton, came to Cherry Creek and visited with the 6th graders to teach them about the importance of voting. She came prepared with a powerpoint to talk about the history of voting, why we vote and how important it is for everyone to make the decision now to vote when they are old enough. Abbey hopes to have an additional voting booth for young voters at the next formal election to allow them the experience of voting, even if it won't count in the final tally.

Golden Croc Claw Party

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

An ice cream party was enjoyed on Friday by winners from the Croc Claw Bingo Board. Students who earn a gold croc claw from one of the teachers or staff at school get to randomly draw out a bingo chip that matches a square on the bingo board. Their name then gets written on the correlating square. Once a bingo is created, students get to celebrate with the principal.  The student winners pictured are: Conner Schouten, Ben Roylance, Abbigail Nelson, Madison Pennington, Josef Wallace, Conner Andreason, Conner Manfredi, Tanner Allred.
